Wonderschool works with experienced educators and childcare providers to help them start their own childcares or preschools out of their homes, whether they live in apartments, condos, or homes that they rent or own.
We provide assistance with licensing, program setup, marketing and everything in between. Our software platform allows teachers to manage their students, parents, and their program from one dashboard.
Wonderschool uses several methods of outreach to connect with partners who may be a good fit for our model. In addition to actively recruiting, we also welcome inquiries from teachers and childcare providers directly through our website.
At Wonderschool, we are committed to ensuring all of our partners are offering safe, nurturing programs with enriching environments for children, and we vet each of our partners.
The Wonderschool vetting process
When beginning a partnership with a new teacher or childcare provider, we take several key factors into consideration. These factors help determine the viability of the potential program, categorization into a particular type of program (e.g., infant/toddler program, preschool, child care, forest school) and goodness of fit with the Wonderschool model.
These factors include a combination of Early Care and Education (ECE) experience, prior teaching and childcare experience, education, as well as location. Other factors reviewed can include if the candidate is a parent, as well as any additional credentials or certifications in a specific curriculum or philosophy.
Wonderschool extends several requirements to all of its partners, with the goal of each partner having a similarly strong commitment to high-quality ECE environments. These requirements include:
- Becoming licensed per state regulations
- Maintaining a liability/insurance policy (Wonderschool pays for this)
- Consistently meeting health and safety standards
- Creating and following a daily schedule/rhythm of day
- Intentionally constructed environment & interactions with children
- Level of professional commitment to program
While we ask for each of our partners to commit to the same core facets of quality, we also celebrate the unique life experiences, love of learning, and joy of care and teaching that each of our partners brings to their programs.
The best way to really get a feel of whether a program is a good fit for your family is to attend an event or tour! We regularly post about upcoming Wonderschool events on our Facebook page and website.
