Kathy and Paul Jacque are co-owners of Kiddyversity, which is an in-home preschool program. Its a family-based business and this is their inspiring story.
I opened my first 24-hour home daycare in Indianapolis, Indiana, with the help of my husband and two of my daughters in November of 2005. At the time, I had just retired from the Department of Corrections. In 2009, my husband and I decided to move to Las Vegas, so naturally I opened another daycare here.
Together, we have over 20 years of experience in daycare and over 30 years of experience working with special needs children. My husband and I are hands-on every day, working closely with the children and tutoring them to help with their homework and support our after-school students. Our dedication to this work truly makes it a family affair, and we take great pride in the positive impact we have on these young lives.
I chose a profession in child care because I genuinely enjoy being with the little ones. I've been involved in child care on and off throughout my entire life, so when I retired, I knew I had to return to it. I missed my babies too much to stay away. The joy, laughter, and pure innocence they bring into my life is something I couldn't live without. Being around children fills my days with purpose and happiness, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
What makes me unique is the time and care I dedicate to my families. Once they join my daycare, they become my extended family. I become a "grandma" to some of the children because they don't have grandparents of their own. I go beyond just taking care of the kids; I help the mothers too. I teach them how to cook and offer my support whenever they need it. I'm a Grannie on demand, always ready to lend a hand or share a bit of wisdom.
I love being able to showcase my favorite pictures to highlight our program. It's wonderful to share glimpses of the joy and activities that fill our days and to let potential families see what makes our child care special. These tools make it easy to show the warmth, care, and fun that define our environment, helping us connect with more families who might be looking for the perfect place for their children.
Wonderschool has been my right hand since moving to Las Vegas. Transitioning from Indiana to getting ready for licensing here has been a complete transformation—it's night and day.
